Welcome Henry James

After nine and a half months (ending with a rather uncomfortable twelve hours), Henry James made his appearance into our family! Thank you so much to everyone who has brought us yummy dinners, our mystery lawn mower, and Sydney’s grandparents (both sets) who took care of Sydney while we were in the hospital. A big thank you to Lauren Ulrich (friend, doula, 2006 Under Grace Bride) for helping labor be as painless as possible and to Joanna Kleine for popping her head in and shooting Henry’s birth story!

Sydney is adjusting quite well to being a big sister.

She checks on him from time to time while he is sleeping and will toss a stuffed animal or blankie in the crib if he looks like he needs one.

Of course we also are heavily documenting these first few days. Say cheese Henry!

She loves getting lots and lots of Daddy time now too!

The big fat Thank You post!

This past year has been incredible, and I could not do it without the help of a few key players. Below, in no particular order, are a few of the people that have made 2009 the best that it could be:

1. Sydney. Thank you for giving me an excuse to take life less seriously and enjoy the little things.
2. Shawn, my husband. Thank you for the past four and the countless future years to come. I love you so much!
3. Dena, my assistant and right-hand woman (shown small as she would be so embarrassed having attention called to her). Thank you for schlepping my gear, finishing my sentences, finding my keys, and your hours of computer work!
4. Steven, my go-to second shooter (shown with Oleg’s happy grandma). Thank you for tirelessly rounding out this year’s portfolio of weddings and for going above and beyond the call of duty.
5. Rachel, and 6. Karley- Thank you for coming in and doing computer grunt work so I could have a clean house!

*footnote: Thank you to Megan Thiele for taking the top two amazing pictures of my family!

Allison+Ryan’s Famous Hands

Allison and Ryan’s wedding snap has popped up on MSN.com!

George Costanza must be green with envy at the coverage these hands are getting. They graced the pages of the most recent KC/MO Knot magazine, my business cards, my soon-to-be-updated website, and now this! Yay hands!

Believe it or not, the groom Ryan brought a box of vintage cameras with us on the wedding day just in case they came in handy. He is a graphic designer and extremely passionate about photography himself. Another shot from this wedding landed first prize in a ISPWP contest earlier this year!

…and just in case you were wondering, this is what the rest of Allison and Ryan look like. RAWR.

Emily- Senior

Emily is super sweet. I think she has just a touch of Jennifer Garner in her smile. Her brother Evan is getting marries next year- and his engagement pictures are coming soon!

The Reynolds Family

I love the Reynolds Family. Grandma always makes pretty dresses for the girls, and we always shoot in different places yet find something fascinating about every place we go. Last time we shot at a family farmland and there were little tiny frogs everywhere we looked in the grass! Landry was really disappointed this time that I didn’t bring the frogs along with me. Sorry, Landry.
