Designing the wedding album is easily one of my favorite parts of this job. The day seems to fly by so fast!  I feel like we are piecing together the slices of time with these images. See my contribution to ISPWP’s article!

KuperSchool!

Kuperschool was an incredible experience. I felt many of Anna’s talking points reinforced the Greater Lesson I was learning during the whole trip away- be genuine, maintain your body, soul and mind so you can be of greater service to others, and embrace/form community.

Anna asked us to remember a time as a child when we got lost in creative process. My dad used to bring home heavy stacks of used printer paper. You might remember the kind with the tear-off sprockets and white and blue highlighting? I would spend hours upon hours coloring on my endless supply of printer paper. It wouldn’t have meant more to me if he had brought home the same weight in dollar bills. That stack of printer paper made me feel so rich.

The next day, just as if God decided to give me a present, I found a stack of printer paper among the free section at Scraps. I was rich all over again, thirty years later.

I love squishy babies. Just so soft and precious!

Noëlle- Senior Class of 2009

Meet Noëlle- she is a stunning senior this year. Her dad is a native Frenchman who gifted her with gorgeous expressive blue eyes.

Erin and Michael

Erin and Michael are getting married next year on the family’s plantation on Georgia. Hassel Weems is shooting the wedding day, but I had the honor of capturing the engagement session!

Look how proud Michael is of himself! He just loves getting Erin a little riled up. She is hiding in case he decides to bite her nose again.

Haircut Day!

Life has just been a whirlwind the last two months! We bought a new house and found out another Ross Baby will be making an appearance in October. Before we knew it, four months had passed since our last Haircut Day! Our good friend and 2007 bride Mandi Denbow (Salon de Christe Hair a la Extraordinaire) came by to remedy that right away! Mandi has been cutting Sydney’s hair since she was a little peewee with barely any hair to cut!

As you can see, I’ve made a monster. Every time the camera comes out, Sydney yells “TEEEESE!” (cheese) and makes a funny face. I didn’t teach her that, I swear!

She recently discovered zippers- apparently she’s bringing back the Seventies! Where’s the gold medallion?

Sydney LOVES Mandi. And Mandi loves her right back!

Baby Harper

Little Harper just loves her bird mobile in her crib. She is enraptured by them as they spin! She kicks and coos in her little baby language, cheering them on.

Seven day countdown and free seminar!

Do you like taking photos? Do you like to hobnob? How would you like to have some Q+A time with one of our industry’s legends tonight? Did I mention it was free? I’ll see you there!

________________________________________________________

In other news, seven days from now I will be on a plane going to see my sister in law Amy (third from left in top row) in San Francisco! Our other sister Megan (second from left, bottom row) is flying in to stay the week too. Expect LOTS of pictures!

Little known fact: California is my birth state! I moved when I was one year old and have never been back. This feels like a Homecoming of sorts- going back to my roots and being with people I love all in the same week!

The idea for the trip was planted when I found out one of my favorite photographers Anna Kuperberg was holding a one-day seminar in San Francisco (Amy’s hometown). This upcoming week is Amy’s birthday- tell me this isn’t fate! What should I get her for a present?

…and did I mention that I will be hanging out ALL DAY with Anna Kuperberg?

If you live in the San Fran area and would like a photo session next week, drop me a line!

Three Mistakes to Avoid

Safeguard yourself when hiring the photographer!

Anika’s Senior Session

Anika was such a trooper for this chilly session! It was around (or less than) 40 degrees the day we shot these. The trophy of the session belongs to Anika’s dress below- it’s her mom’s prom dress from more than 25 years ago! A little adjustment here and a little less puffy sleeves there and BAM! Instant vintage couture!
