Laura + Jesse- Engaged!

Laura and Jesse had an XL engagement session Sunday (slideshow here)- we took the Golden Eagle Ferry to Grafton for shots in the Pere Marquette Cabin and also some pretty cool barns along the way!

Starring in this photo session is Piper, the sweetest little puppy you have ever seen!

Here she is in her winter coat, complete with fur jacket- isn’t that awesome? Piper is a little miffed that she got left in the car:

Hundreds of birds chose Sunday to migrate back north- how lucky for us!

Pere Marquette- such a pretty place for weddings, vacations and relaxing!

Jesse and Laura are very much in love. It’s such a pleasure to be with them!

Wedding Weather

Missouri is known for having unpredictable weather. It’s fun for me to capture, but sometimes frustrating for a bride to plan one to two years out for a wedding day with that big unknown variable. I came across something really cool today: Weather Channel Wedding Planner- complete with forecasts and sunset times.

Here are some interesting things I found about St. Louis:

On Average:

  • July is the warmest month.
  • January is the coolest month.
  • July is the wettest month.
  • January is the driest month.
  • October has the most clear days.
  • January has the most cloudy days

July and August are the hottest months, with days averaging at 90 degrees. Can we say whee for summer? The Leach kids can!

Wheeeeeeeeeeee!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

How was your Valentine’s Day? What did you do?

Shawn and I were naughty- we had dessert first at The Cupcakery! It’s a secret little shop in the Central West end hidden in the alcove behind the shops and the water fountain (where we’ve done so many Dress Trashes)

Then we went to the historic Cafe DeMenil and were treated to complimentary champagne and a special Valentine’s Day menu. I had the shrimp fettucini, yum!

Sydney didn’t understand why we would go and leave her behind.  One more second of this look and we would have stayed home!

Connell Doolin

Joe + Staci were one of my brides from 2005 that were published in The Knot regional magazine- see article here.

Baby Connell made an appearance the year after, and life hasn’t been the same since!

He’s a little bummed about not being a magazine model yet-

But Dad makes it all better!

Linley’s Baptism

Linley got baptized and turned one this past September- her mama Cadence was a bride of mine that got married during my maternity leave (thanks Alisha for covering her wedding for me!). She was the cutest little thing…
