Happy Birthday my Baby!!

Happy Birthday my little Sydney!

Lots of Sydney’s friends came and had chili and cupcakes for her party. We tried to line up the kids for a picture and were semi-successful- see the pictures here! Shawn had fun taking her down the baby slide in the playground. She had her first cupcake all by herself. She dropped most of it off the side of her chair, and got really grossed out by sticky icing on her fingers.

Post-Bridal Session: Kylene + PD

This year I will be holding Location Bridals and Engagement sittings at selected dates (to be announced) free of charge for my 2008 brides. My 2007 and 2006 brides get a special rate- please inquire for details!

Here is a snippet of one of our ‘Flippin Freezin’ sessions at Newtown from last Saturday featuring P.D. and Kylene.

and to all a good night!

My Centro

I don’t have any New Year’s Resolutions for you. I found that I’m a doer, not a planner. Last year I made a lot of resolutions that only made it as far as my notepad. I’ve found that I like to do less planning and more doing. So here are some things I have been working on that will just so happen to coincide with the turn of the year:
A New Under Grace Photo Website!
A New Under Grace Blog (you are on it!)
Faster E-mail Correspondence- we’ve replaced my old cell phone with a new Centro. It has email capability which allows me to respond to you anywhere. This is especially nice for me as a mom. Multitasking has become integral to my way of life. I’ve been emailing at the gym while on the stairmaster and while waiting in line at the grocery store. I’m not much of a phone person, and even less so now that I have to balance phone/baby/housework/business.

The thing that I am most excited about with my new phone is my new ringtone. R2-D2 talks every time you call me!

Albums, albums, albums

During this Holiday Break I have been hunkering down and working on albums. Here is a sampling of some below:

Jessica and Chad
Ellen and Michael

Christina and Wes

Melissa and Nick

I’m in love with this new cover my album supplier just released. The cover image is face mounted on clear, thick acrylic, which intensifies the colors and has a liquid-like surface shine!

Lily and Landry Reynolds

I’ve been following Lily and Landry for more than a year! They were beta testers of my “Watch Me Grow” collection- multiple sessions over a period of time for growing girls! The culmination of this project is a coffeetable book as seen here.

It struck me today while designing this album what an honor this is. Every mom knows how fleeting these moments are, and having a visual record is such a treasure! I think the album is the most precious heirloom- Moms, how many stacks of 4×6′s of your kids do you have in boxes? How many CD’s gathering dust?

Confession time: I’m one of those moms. Have you ever heard of the “Painter who lived in an unpainted house”? I need to hire myself to make an album of Sydney! Now…. what to charge, what to charge. I think I will pay myself a few pots of Philz coffee- that’s some good editing fuel!

Kate’s Twelve Week Session

Laura, Kate’s Mom said, “You know, if we brushed her hair it just wouldn’t look like her!” which made me ecstatic. Just look at that hair! I’m glad mom signed a model release, because I might be making Kate a greeting card baby model for some studio samples. I shot some just focusing on her cute cowlick:

Methinks lil’ Kate is begging for a caption- any ideas?

Laura (Mom) took advantage of the ‘Baby’s First Year’ package, which gives you three sessions for the price of two! Email me if you’d like more info. Kate’s mom came to me from KT Clark, who is expecting her own little baby soon! Thanks KT!
