Thank you to Kelly Manno for wrestling a behemoth of this magnitude and WINNING. Yesterday left me deeply moved in so many ways, and it was all because you made it happen.
Thank you Clary and Kelly for being by my side during the Q+A sessions. The mountain to climb seemed much less intimidating when facing it with friends.
Thank you Jasmine Star for loving life unabashedly, and reminding us we have the freedom to be unique.
Thank you JD for supporting her when she went out on a limb to follow her heart. Our souls are richer for it.
Thank you Debbie for coming to offer an olive branch from the Capulets to the Montagues!
Thank you Samantha, Elisa, Sarah, Tiffany, Kelly, Mary, Nikki, Donna, and Terri for following up this morning with more questions, or just wonderful things to say! I will be following up many of the seminar’s questions as individual dedicated posts on the blog.
Thank you Emily and handsome fiancee whose name I totally forget for braving the business end of 30+ cameras. It’s not an easy job to do, but you did it.
And lastly, thank YOU right there with your nose in the screen. I see you, reading me. You are the children clapping to revive Tinkerbell. You make a HUGE difference in my life just by spending a few moments here. You give Henry and Sydney a mommy that has time in her day to transform into a tickle monster or to make rings out of dandelions before lunchtime. Thank you for giving them the gift of an unhurried mommy.

Oh Emily. You flew out of my life just as quickly as you flew into it. College had to come and snatch you from my clutches. You were such a good intern. My computer misses you so. Please come back and edit another few thousand files, just for old times sake.

P.S. Although not speaking, Emily will be at the 2010 Shot Party. She’d be happy to answer any questions you have about her internship experience, playing Cow Golf, or just photography in general.
We are past the Paper Anniversary (one year) to the Wooden Anniversary (five years). I feel, like Pinocchio, to have come alive. I never expected a day-to-day existence to be so vibrant and rewarding. Thank you for showing me God’s love in so many forms, and for giving our family a framework in which to blossom.

I don’t do well planning outfits. I feel like my best outfits come together after I’ve come home from the event that I’ve dressed up for. I’ll put on a layer, or take off a layer, or look in the mirror and say, “Well, THAT was a ridiculous idea.” and change accordingly. So can I get your help on this one? I’d kind of like to nail it on the first go, and not come home after speaking to an audience of 150 people, look in the mirror, and say to myself, “WHAT were you thinking with those legwarmers!”
Side note: Registration for the Shot Party (for which I am seeking your fashion advice) closes TOMORROW, no if you are on the fence about going, reserve your spot today. No more procrastinating.
I’ve narrowed it down to two choices. This Shabby Apple white summer dress, and houndstooth skirt much like this one.

I’m leaning more toward the latter for two reasons. One, it’s a really great hipster style staple*. I saw at least two in the space of an hour while at Kansas City’s Broadway Cafe. Two, the piece actually started out as a thrifted dress, and I deconstructed and reconstructed it into this skirt. I’m playing with a few ideas of expanding the topic spread of this blog into the Domestic Arts as well as Photography- specifically cooking and sewing. Would that be something you are interested in?
Our section of the day is a Q+A, so please unload your brain here with questions you would like answered. That way we can do a little research and be prepared with lots of info. See you on the 18th!
*not that I am a hipster. I don’t have the refined musical taste or the bicycle for it.

Gently toss all ingredients in pretty glass bowl and chill 15 minutes before serving.
* 3 cups watermelon, in cubes
* 1 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped
* half a jalapeno, seeds removed, diced
* 2 Tbs olive oil
* 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
* freshly ground pepper & coarse sea salt
O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,

For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

So! Just so you don’t get confused, this is how things are going to happen in 2010.
If you were just at a wedding or portrait session and are chomping at the bit to see pictures, sneak peeks should be up within 72 hours here.
An editorial spread of each wedding will be up the Thursday following the wedding date. To find it Thursday, type in the web address found on one of the super-secret passcards you picked up at my mini- slideshow during the reception (if you were lucky enough to be a wedding guest). If you forgot to pick up a passcard, just keep an eye on my twitter feed- I’ll tweet a link later in the week.
If you want to pick my brain, ask me anything here. You can even ask anonymously if you’re skeered of feeling dum.
…make the art world go round. Manet ripped off Raphael 150 years ago, and it’s still happening today. Copycats are the greatest compliment an artist can receive. By the way, thank you, John Singer Sargent, for this past Saturday.

Tomorrow we pick up our first basket from our CSA (…CSwhat?) with Terripin Farms. It’s an exciting new venture for our family. My mom is especially excited to partake. She grew up on an Iowa turkey farm, and has many a story about the chores she had to do growing up. PRO: Delicious farm food. CON: Turkey turds.
