About Michelle

I love weddings- I always know what's going to happen and simultaneously never know what's going to happen. My favorite part of the job is freezing slices of time that show how much you are loved by the people around you. I love to dance. I love to cook like the Swedish Chef. I love to see tiny green plants pop up in our garden.  I love science fiction.  I'm in love with my husband Shawn and my circus of kids Sydney, Henry, Dorothy and Levi.

My style is best described as Wabi-sabi- the term represents a comprehensive Japanese world view or aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is “imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete”. The wind blowing bits of your hair, a crooked smile, a tie askew. These things make you who you are. This is why we fall in love with you.

For over a decade I’ve been taking pictures of couples in love and the families that love them in the Saint Louis area and nationwide. I'd love to tell your story! I've been featured on Style Me Pretty, Landlocked Bride, Fab You Bliss, Poptastic Bride, Adore by Chloe, Chic to the Nines, Belle & Chic, Hi-Fi Weddings, the Knot Magazine and Saint Louis Bride. My brides love that I am well-prepared and efficient on the wedding day, attentive to their needs and wishes, and have a quick turnaround on images. I have shot more than three hundred and fifty events and portrait sessions over the years, so I am able to anticipate for the best situations and also adapt when the worst happens!

I have a Bachelor's of Illustration from Columbus College of Art and Design. My brides love that they have a classically trained artist at their disposal who, beyond photography, can understand color and design in a fundamental sense.
